All the stars are falling in line for Tottenham Hotspurs this year. This year could be the first year that the Tottenham Hotspurs win the English premier league in the history of their club.
Antonio Conte
This being coach Antonio Conte’s second year with the club, his philosophy and style of play are even more insinked into the club. As seen through his style of intense pre-season conditioning training that was a main topic of controversy last month, he had all his star players fully involved and almost puking. This shows a stark contrast to other teams superstars like Manchester United’s cristiano Ronaldo who has had a blow up with the new coach Eric ten hag, refusing to go to pre-season games.
Tottenham had also had one of the best transfer windows for the immediate future spending (£107.9 million), all without losing any key players.
Richarlison
They have added another strong, experienced attacking threat through Richarlison who’s coming from Everton. (£52.2 million) This is a better signing in the short term compared to Manchester City’s Earling Holland (£135 million) and Julian Alvarez and Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez (£67.5 million). Richarlison has been playing in the Premier league since 2017. This is a lot of experience that these other top signings do not have. Earling Halland and Darwin Nunez have a lot of time to become top strikers in the EPL but Richarlison has time and experience over them right now.
Richarlison also comes in as a complement to established superstars of the club Harry Cane and Heung-Min Son.
Also compared to Manchester City, Richarlison comes in as a missing piece not having to completely overhaul their stick style like Man City is having to do right now.
Ivan Perisic
Another great pick up for Tottenham was Ivan Perisic coming off of a free transfer from Inter Milan. Ivan brings a lot of experience that only a vet of the game can have. He only strengthens the team while also being one of the oldest on it (33).
Only getting better
All of this is only building off of what Tottenham has already established. They’re coming off of a good season last year finishing 4th and qualifying for the champions league this year. While being the most slept on attacking duo in the premier league, Harry Cane and Heung-Min Son are in prime form and extremely dangerous.
Challenges to the team
While this all looks good, this year could bring some unexpected challenges to the team. Champions league football could stretch the team thin and Tottenham isn’t that deep compared to some other teams. Champions league could also cause a distraction from league play.
The World Cup
The World Cup this year could also cause some unforeseen challenges. Harry cane and Son are huge parts of their international teams. This could cause them to not go as hard before the mid season break to help prevent any injuries before the World Cup.
